Alexander Claffy, a New York-based jazz bassist, composer, and arranger, boasts a rich career collaborating with esteemed artists such as Jimmy Cobb, Louis Hayes, and Kurt Rosenwinkel, among others. Alongside his band, Claffy, he has produced a distinctive blend of compositions transcending traditional genres. Notably, Claffy studied under jazz legend Ron Carter and hosts the podcast Village Green with Alexander Claffy, delving into discussions with NYC musicians. Raised in a musical household just outside Philadelphia, Claffy’s upbringing immersed him in various musical instruments and performance arts, eventually leading him to pursue a scholarship at the New School in 2011, marking the beginning of his journey in the heart of the jazz scene.
