Composer and musician Kaki King is widely regarded as one of the world’s greatest living guitarists, celebrated for her technical prowess and relentless innovation in expanding the guitar’s boundaries. Recognized by Rolling Stone as “a genre unto herself,” Kaki has released nine albums, toured extensively, and performed at prestigious venues such as the Kennedy Center, MoMA, LACMA, The Met, and Smithsonian Design Museum. She has composed music for various film and TV soundtracks, including “August Rush” and “Into the Wild,” earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score. Kaki has collaborated with symphonies and chamber ensembles, notably recording an album with the Porta Girevole Chamber Orchestra commissioned by Berklee College of Music. In 2015, she debuted “The Neck is a Bridge to the Body,” a groundbreaking multimedia performance that toured globally, marking her venture into experimental theater. Her latest multimedia project, DATA NOT FOUND, delves into contemporary themes like A.I., the natural world, “big data,” and personal empowerment, slated to tour starting in 2021. Additionally, Kaki’s album “Modern Yesterdays” is set for release on October 23, 2020.
